DEshika Vinaayakam PiLLai – A renowned Tamil poet and singer, he was named “Kavimani” and was also known widely as a fighter in the freedom struggle, using his poetry to combat the British rule. His lyrics were simple and easy for laymen to understand. His works supported women’s rights and freedom for all.
