Krishnaswaami Ayya

Pending cleanup , corrections

CS Krishnaswaamy Ayyaa – He was a composer who lived in the second half of the 19th century and the earlier part of the 20th. He chiefly followed the style of Muthuswami Dikshitar, noticeable in the fact that he did not repeat the music of the anupallavi in the charanam of a kriti and in his use of solkattu swara. He also followed Dikshitar’s interpretation of ragas like Darbar, Rudrapriya and Vegavahini. His songs had a preference for the goddess Devi and the Krishna themes. Some compositions: Ambaparadevate – rudrapriya, Tillana Daru – shurutti, Gopikaramanam – devagandhari, SaradE SadAsrayE – shankaraabharaNam, and Parvata RAja Kumari – naattai.
