About The Temple :

Poranghotur Sree Subramania temple is situated on the right Bank of Cherupuzha River in Koduvalli Grama Panchayath in Kozhikode District of Kerala State. It is 28 km North East of Kozhikode (Calicut) city and is accessible by good motorable road. The main temple dedicated to Lord Subrahmania (Muruga) is Flanked on either sides by small temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu on the left side and Lord Siva on the right side. The Sanctum Sanctorums of the main temple and Siva Temple are circular in shape. These are seperate temples eventhough they are close to the main temple. It is believed
that the idol of Lord Subrahmania was installed by none other than Sage Parasurama. It is more than 1.20 metre in height and is fixed on a high pedastal. The main temple is a sufficiently big one. The circumference of the Sanctum Sanctorum is 20.35 M. and it has a Mandapam in front of it.
