Poem Abstract:
One who doesn’t owe money to anyone is the real prosperous man | అప్పులేని వాడు భాగ్యవంతుడు అంటుంది ఈ పద్యము.
తాత్పర్యం:
ఎన్ని రుచినిచ్చు పదార్థములను వేసి ఎంత బాగా వండినా ఆ కూరలో ఉప్పు లేకపోతే ఎందుకూ పనికిరాదు.పప్పు లేని ఆహారము బలము లేనిది.అలాగే ఎంతో ఐశ్వర్యవంతుడు అయినా కూడా అతడికి అప్పులు ఉన్నట్లయితే ఆ సంపదలు ఆ వ్యక్తికి శోభనీయవు.కాబట్టి అప్పులేని వాడే ఉత్తముడు మరియు ధనవంతుడు.

Meaning:
Without salt, however well food is cooked, it is tasteless. Without Dal (Red gram which is the main protein ingredient in Indian meal), food is not nutritious; similarly, however rich a man might, if he owes money to others, his riches do not get him the value one deserves. A prosperous man is the really one who doesn’t owe money to others.
