5జూపు – this word may be translated as ‘one who shows’ or ‘show’. However, in the present context, ‘show’ seems to be appropriate.

O Lord! Please protect me. O Lord Raghunatha! Please protect me.

Charanams

1. Have those words of sage Valmiki and others, who earlier said that You are endowed with gentleness, become false? O Lord Raghunatha! please protect me.

2. O Lord Raghunatha who, feeling pity looking at the ascetics living in the country-side (without protection), bestowed them freedom from fear! please protect me.

3. O Lord Raghunatha who looks at blessed true devotees with compassion, by clearing the curls of hair falling on the beautiful forehead! please protect me.

4. O Lord Raghunatha! Please show me the elegance of coming back to rule own country, after making innumerable enemies grieve; please protect me.

5. O Lord Raghunatha! Please show those hands with which You embraced Bharata, after seeing him and taking pity on him; please protect me.

6. O Lord Raghunatha who, when the women of the town were enamoured beholding the lustre of Your charming face, considers them as Your mothers! Please protect me.
