Adiyaasa Koluvu Goluvaku (అడియాస కొలువు గొలువకు)

Composer: Baddena Bhupaludu (AD 1220-1280). He was also known as Bhadra Bhupala. C.P. Brown. He was a Chola prince and was a Vassal under the Kakatiya empress Rani Rudrama Devi during the thirteenth century. He was a pupil of Tikkana, the greatest writer in Telugu. If we assume that the Sumatee Satakam was indeed written by Baddena, it would rank as one of the earliest Satakams in TeluguMore...

పద్యం:
అడియాస కొలువుఁ గొలువకు,
గుడిమణియముఁ సేయఁబోకు,కుజనుల తోడన్
విడువక కూరిమి సేయకు
మసవినిఁ దో డరయ కొంటి నరుగకు సుమతీ.

తాత్పర్యం:
వ్యర్థమైన ఆశగల కొలువును,దేవాలయ మండలియధికారమును,చెడ్డవారితో విడువకుండా స్నేహమును,అడవిలో తోడు లేకుండగా ఒంటరిగాపోవుటయును తగినవికావు.(కనక,వానిని మానివేయవలెను).

Adiyaasa koluvuao goluvaku,
Gudimaniyamuao seyaaoboku,kujanula thodan
Viduvaka koorimi seyaku
Masaviniao dho daraya komti narugaku sumathi.

Meaning:
Unfulfilling job, governing the temple body, longtime friendship with lowly people, travelling along to a forest are not right things to do (hence do not do them!)
