పద్యం:
భూనుతు లైన దేవతలు పూర్వము కొందఱు వావివర్తనల్
మాని చరింపరో యనుచు మానవు లట్ల చరింపఁబోల దం
భోనిధులన్నియుం దనదుపుక్కిటఁ బట్టె నగస్త్యుఁ డంచు నా
పూనిక కెవ్వఁ డోపునదిపూర్వమహత్త్వముసుమ్ము భాస్కరా.
తాత్పర్యం:
పూర్వము దేవతలు కొన్ని శాస్త్రనిందితములైన మార్గముల నడచిరని విని వాని నాదారము చేసికొని యిప్పటి జనులట్లు చేయఁదగదు.అటులైన వారు చేసినవన్నియుఁ జేయవలెను.పూర్వ మగస్త్యమహాముని సర్వ సముద్రములను తన నోటిలో నిమిడ్చెనని మఱియొకఁ డట్లు చేయఁగలఁడా లేదు.అది పూర్వుల సామర్థ్యబల మని తెలియవలెను.

maani charimparo yanuchu maanavu latla charimpaabola dham
bhonidhulanniyum dhanadhupukkitaa batte nagasthyua damchu naa
poonika kevvaa dopunadhipoorvamahaththvamusummu bhaaskaraa.
Meaning:
O Lord! One must not take the example of some deed of devas and must not try repeating them. If they do this, they should repeat all the acts of devas. Can one repeat the feat of Rishi Agatsya, who held the water of the all the oceans in his mouth? – This poem says one must take good deeds as example and path showers, not the misdeeds.
