Composer: Dhurjati (or Dhoorjati) (Telugu: ధూర్జటి) (15th and 16th centuries, CE) was a Telugu poet. He was born to Singamma and Narayana in Sri Kalahasti and was the grandson of Jakkayya. He was a great devotee of lord Shiva, also known as Kalahasteeshwara. జలజశ్రీగల మంచినీళ్ళుగలవే / చట్రాతిలో? బాపురే!
వెలివాడ న్మరిబాపనిల్లుకలదా? / వేసాలుగా కక్కటా
నలి నా రెండు గుణంబులెంచి మదిలో / నన్నేమి రోయంగ ఏ
చెలువంబైన గుణంభు లేంచుకొనవె / శ్రీకాళహస్తీశ్వరా!
తాత్పర్యం:
శ్రీకాళహస్తీశ్వరా!బండరాతిలో పద్మములతో కూడిన మంచి నీళ్ళు ఉండవు.అట్లే మాలపల్లెయందు బ్రాహ్మణూని ఇల్లు కన్పించదు.ఈ విషయములు తెలిసికొనియు నా మనస్సునంచు ఇంచుక మంచి గుణములు కన్పెట్టుట లేదు అని నీవు భావించుట ఆశ్చర్యము.అయినా భక్తులకు నిధానము నీవు కావున నీ భక్తితో నుంఢెదను.కరుణతో నన్ను రక్షింపుము.నీ మనసు నుంచి నన్ను తోసివేయద్దు.

O Lord! A stone doesn’t bear water with lilies. A Brahmin doesn’t live in an untouchable ward. Inspite of knowing this, why do you not bless me with deliverance?
