Jayacamaraaja WODeyaar – Born July 18th, 1919 in Mysore to Narasimharaja Wodeya and Semba Seluvajammakka, he was the last ruler of Mysore State. His family were great patrons of Carnatic Music. He composed about ninety pieces with the mudra Srividya and created the ragam Jayasamvardini. His compositions were in rare ragas like Durvanki and Pratapavarali. He served as Governor of Madras Presidency after Indian independence. He died September 23rd, 1974, in Bangalore.
