Pallippattu Kavil Bhagavathy Temple

About The Temple :

An ancient temple at Desam about 5 km towards North from Aluva town. The temple was belong to a nair family called ‘Pallippat Nair’. A story behind tells that this Pallippat Nair was a devotee of Godess Kodungalloor Bhagavathy.

He was often went to that temple for Bhajan on bare foot. At his old age it was very difficult for him to reach there on every Monday. He prayed the Godess with his folded hand and returned to his native village. On reaching at Desam he rested his umbrella near a pond and went to the pond for drinking water. After the rest he could not taken the umbrella. He tried his best to pull out the umbrella but it was in vain.

Thus he realized the situation and conducted a ‘Devaprasnam’. In the light of the ‘Devaprasnam’ a temple was constructed on the same place of the rested umbrella and the diety of Godess Devi was installed there and the temple was known as ‘Pallipattkavu Bhagavathy temple’ .
