Pallavi

Please protect me, O Wielder of KOthanda! O Holy One! O Wish-gem of those dependent!

Anupallavi

O Lord whose Lotus feet are praised by Brahma – One who abides in the Lotus! O Resident of Ayodhya! O Son of King Dasaratha!

Charanam

1. O Lord who is happy because of the proclamation by the very words of Lord Siva – adorned with blessed King (of serpents) Sesha – making name of ‘Rama’ distinct i.e., Taraka Nama (for crossing over the Ocean of Worldly Existence)! O Lord who converses with Sugriva – son of Sun! O Nourisher of those who supplicate! O Lord whose form causes auspiciousness! O Blemish-less Lord!

2. O Lord who is true to His Word! O Lord who protects those blessed dependents! O Most Eminent of the dynasty of Sun! O Protector of the people who are truthful! O Lord who is very handsome! O Lord who is dear to the dancers! O Lord extolled by all! O Lord of virtuous conduct! O Lord whose form is ever a celebration to behold!

3. O Lord who subdued the pride of the Lord of Oceans! O Lord whose feet are praised by Garuda – enemy of serpents! O Lord who abides in the heart of Lord Ganapati! O Lord who is watchful in protecting (devotees)! O Lord who is kind towards those who have sought refuge! O Lord praised by this Tyagaraja! O Lord who speeds on Garuda – the enemy of snakes!
