పద్యం:
పతి భుజియించిన పాత్రను
మెతు కొక్కటియైన భార్య మెసఁగుటికై తా
హిత మూనకున్న నది యొక
సతియే?కడుఁ బాపజాతి జగతి కుమారీ!
తాత్పర్యము:
ఓ కుమారీ ! భర్త భుజించిన పాత్రలో అతడు వదిలిన ఒకా మెతుకైననూ భార్య దినుట పతివ్రతా లక్షణమనబడును.దీనినే భర్త చేసుకొన్న పుణ్యములలో భాగమును గ్రహించుటయని అర్థము.భార్య దినిన పాత్రలో భర్త దినుటయనే ప్రశ్న లేదు గావున భార్య చేసుకొన్న పుణ్యములలో భాగమునకు భర్త రాడు.భార్య చేసికొన్న పుణ్యములు ఆమెకే చెందునని భావము.పతివ్రతా స్త్రీలు ఈ విదంగా నడుచుకొనవలెను.అట్లు ఆడుది ప్రపంచములో చెడ్డజాతి స్త్రీలతో చేరును.అనగా పాపిష్టురాలగును.

Pathi bhujiyimchina paathranu
methu kokkatiyaina bhaarya mesaaogutikai thaa
hitha moonakunna nadhi yoka
sathiye?Kaduao baapajaathi jagathi kumaari!
Meaning:
O Kumari! A dutiful wife should eat the remains of her husband’s meal, even if it were to be a single grain. This signifies that the wife shares the good destiny of her husband. But the destiny of the wife is not shared by the husband. If a woman behaves otherwise, she will be destined to be a bad stain on womanhood.
