స్థానము తప్పివచ్చునెడఁ దా నెటువంటి బలాడ్యుఁడున్ నిజ
స్థానికుఁడైన యల్పునికతంబున నైనను మోసపోవుఁగా
కానలలోపల న్వెడలి గందగజం బొకనాఁడు నీటిలోఁ
గానక చొచ్చినన్ మొసలికాటుకులోఁబడదోటు భాస్కరా.
తాత్పర్యం:
తాను స్థానము దప్పి యొకచోటికి వెళ్ళినప్పుడెంత బలశాలియైనను స్థానబలముగల యొక యల్పునిచేతనైనను పరిభవింపఁబడును .పూర్వమొక గజముకొలనిలో నీరు ద్రావఁబోయి యొక మొసలిచేతఁ జిక్కువడెను కదా.

sthaanikuadaina yalpunikathambuna nainanu mosapovuagaa
kaanalalopala nvedali gamdhagajam bokanaaadu neetiloa
gaanaka chochchinan mosalikaatukuloabadadhotu bhaaskaraa.
Meaning:
O Lord! It is useful to seek the patronage of a strong and generous amn, not the weak people. If one goes to the mouth of the cave of a lion, one can get the tusks of elephants. What will one get at the mouth of the cave of a fox, other than the hooves and tails of calves and the bones of dead animals?
