About The Temple :

Tali temple is one of the very famous Mahakshethras (Great Temples) in Kerala. According to the legend the temple was consecrated and installed by the Lord Parasurama. The temple became mahakshethra during the reign of Zamorins. The temple was constructed in the present state by Manavikrama Zamorin in 11 th century. It is the most important temple of Zamorin Raja of Kozhikode. The temple is a fine example of the total integration that can exist between wood and laterite which is a remarkable feature of the Kerala style of architecture. The presiding deities are Siva and Vishnu and five poojas are conducted daily. The sub-deities are Ganapathy, Sathavu, Bhagavathy etc. The consecration day is in the Anizham star of month Mithunam with the Renovation Kalasam in 200 1. This temple is the venue of famous Revathy Pattathanam, the annual cultural and intellectual event. It is a great celebration of cultural Kerala. The temple remains in the heart of the city of Kozhikode as a great spiritual and cultural centre.
