मैत्रीं भजत,अखिल हृत जैत्रीं |
अत्मवद एव परान्न अपि पश्यत |
युध्हं त्यजत,स्पर्धां त्यजत |
त्यजत परेषु अक्रम-आक्रमणं ||

जननि पृथिवी काम-दुखर्ते |
जनको देवः सकल दयालुः |
‘दमयत,दत्त,दयध्वं’ जनता |
श्रेयो भूयत सकल जनानानां ||

జననీ ప్రిథివీ కామ-దుఖార్తే |
జనకొ దేవహ్ సకల దయాళుహ్ |
‘దామ్యత, దత్త, దయధ్వం’ జనతా |
ష్రేయో భూయాత్ సకల జనానానాం ||

janako devah sakala dayaluh |
‘damyata, datta, dayadhvam’ janata |
shreyo bhuyat sakala janananam ||
shreyo bhuyat sakala janananam ||
shreyo bhuyat sakala janananam ||

Here the poet has used ‘dAmyata, datta, dayadhvam’ phrase in the last stanza, very significantly. There is a story and scope for wide ranging interpretation on it.

The story occurs in Brihad Aranyaka Upanishad (and some other places). In Long back, there were three kinds of children (sons) for Prajapati, the Creator. In olden days father himself would be the teacher for most of their kids, to start with. After their studies under him all these three groups of children approached Prajapati and asked him for a sort of final sermon-like-teaching before they say good-bye!
