The other important places are thiruvallam near thiruvananthapuram, thirunelly in wayanad. other one is the varkala papanasom beach.
The temple situates on the bank of Periyar in Aluva of Emakulam district. The famous Sivarathri celebration is the main festival of this temple. The presiding deity is Siva, facing the east. The temple is governing by Travancore Devaswom Board.
