About The Temple :

Lokanarkavu Devi Temple is a combination of three temples. Sree Mahavishnu temple and Sree siva Temples are the others. Mandala pooja observed in grand scale. five kilometers from Badagara, Aayancherry route. ( the tharavad of the legendary warrior Thacholi Othenan is associated with the Temple ).

Famous temple of Malabar 4 ~ kms from Ayancherry in Calicut District situates the co-ordination of three temples LokanarKavu. Main deities are Vishnu, Siva and Bhagavathy. Oldest temple is Vishnu and believed installed by Parasurama. This area was a Brahmin village. In Siva temple deity is ‘linga’ and Bhagavathy deity is ‘Manithoon’. It is believed this temple was brought from Lokamalaswaram (KodungaIloor) by 500, 10,300 – Nairs.
