About The Temple :

This temple “Sanmargapratheepam Yogam Sree Narayaneshwarem temple is situated on the Poonurunni – Vytilla route at Emakulam district. It was on the 25th day of the Malayalam month Kumbh in the year 1108, in Pooyam star at 2 O’clock very early morning, Brahmashri. Narasimhaswami Thripadamgal, one of the prime disciples of-Sri. Narayana Guru installed the panchaloha idols. The beautiful octagonal shaped temple constructed of rubble has housed four deities under a single sanctum sanctorum. The presiding deity facing west is “Goshala Gopalakrishanan” and sub-deity Shiva, who faces south, is considered as “Dakshinamoorthy” Other subdeities include Goddess Parvathi facing the north, and Subramanian, facing the east also. Ayyappan, Ganapathi, Sriboothanagayakshi, Hidumban etc. are the other deities. During Shasti of every month special poojas and Abhishekhams with Rose water and milk is been offered to Lord Subramanian. “Palpayasam” is the main offering made to the presiding deity “Goshalagopala Krishnan” For Lord Shiva, Dhara and floral offering called “Pushpanjali”is being done with leaves of Koovalam. The main offering is “Swayamwara Pushpanjali” to Devi Parvathi during Vidyarambham, books are offered to Devi Parvathi for attaining Godly blessings. On Chathayam star day of every month, special prayers and poojas are offered at the magnificent altar of Sri. N ara yanaguru Devan. The flag hoisting marking the start of the temple festival (utsav) falls on a “Karthika” star day during the month of Kumbh. The sevenday festival with an Aarattu on an “Ayiliam” star day, is been organized incorporating various temple arts, such as Kath kali, Ootamthullal, Chakiyarkoothu etc., and according to the tastes of the devotees, dance and music concerts are also organized. Colourful kavady processions reach the temple from different side on the day of ‘Pooyam’. On aarattu day, devotees from the northern side organizes a massive daytime fire works, marking the start of the “Pagalpooram” After Aarattu a big mob of devotees accompanied with band and music flows towards the temple from “Thykoodam” side. The temple renovation works underway is been done according to the “Ashtamangala prasna chart”. For receiving various favors, lots of devotees from various parts of the state flocks to this temple every day.
