ऋषिर उवाच :-
1. सक्रधाय सुरगणा निहथे अथिवीर्य,
थास्मिन दुरथ्मनि सुरारी बले च देव्या,
थां थुष्टुवु प्रनथि नम्र शिरो दरंस,
वाग्भि प्रहर्ष पुल्गोथ्गम चारु देह.
2. देव्या यया थाथमिधं जगदथ्म शक्थ्य,
निस्सेष देव गण शक्थि समूह मूर्थ्य,
थां अम्बिकं अखिल देव महर्षि पूज्यं,
भक्त्य नथस्म विध द्हःथु शुभानि सा न.
3. यस्य प्रभवं अथुलं भग्वन् अनन्थो,
ब्रह्म हरस्च नहि वक्थुमलं बलं च,
सा चण्डिक अखिल जगतः परिपालनाय,
नास्य चाशुभ भयस्य मथिं करोथु.
4. या श्री स्वयम् सुक्र्थीनां भवनेश्व लक्ष्मी,
पपथ्मानं कृथा धियं ह्रुधयेषु बुधि,
सरधा सथां कुल जन प्रभावस्य लज्जा,
थां थ्वाम् नाथा स्म परिपालय देवी विस्वम्.
5. किं वर्णयाम थ्व रूप मचिन्थ्य मेथातः,
किं छथि वीर्यमसुर क्षयकारि भूरि,
किं चाहवेषु चरिथानि थावथि यानि,
सर्वेषु देव्यसुर देव गनधिकेषु.
6. हेथु समास्थ जगथं त्रिगुणापि दोषैर,
न ज्ञायसे हर्हरधिभिरप्यपार,
सर्वस्रयखिलमिदं जगदंस भूथ,
मव्यक्यथ हि परम प्रक्रुथिस्थ्वमध्य.
7. यस्य समास्थ सुरथा समुधीरणेन,
तृप्थिं प्रयथि सकलेषु मखेषु देवी,
श्र्वहसि वै पिथ्रु गणस्य च तृप्थिहेथु,
उचर्यसेथ्वमथ एव जनै स्वथ च.
8. या मुक्थिहेथु रविचिन्थ्यव् महा वृथा थ्व,
मभ्य्स्यसे सुनियथेन्द्रिय थथ्व सरै,
मोक्षर्थिभिर मुनिभिरस्थ समास्थ दोषैर,
विध्यसि सा भगवथी परम हे देवी.
9. सभथ्मिक सुवि मलर्घ्य जुषां निधन,
मुध्गेधरम्य पध पतवथं च साम्नां,
देवी, थ्वयि भगवथि भव भावनय,
वर्थ च सर्व जगथं पारमार्थि हन्थ्री.
10. मेधासि देवी, विधिथखिल सस्त्र सर,
दुर्गासि दुर्ग भव सागर नौर संग,
श्री कैद भरि ह्रुदैक कृथधिवास,
गौरी ठ्वमेव ससि मोउली कृथा प्रथिष्ट.
11. इषातः साहसं अमलं परिपूर्ण चन्द्र,
भिबनुकारि प्रःरुथाम कनथि कण्ठं,
अथ्यथ्बुथं प्रःरुथमाथरुष थाधापि,
वक्त्रं विलोख्य सहसा महिषासुरेण.
12. ढ्रुश्त्व थु देवी, कुपिथं ब्रुकुतिकरल,
मुद्र्च्च संक साध्या स्चवी यन्न साध्या,
प्रनान मुमोच महिषस थादीव चित्रं,
कैर जीविथे हे कुपिथन्त्हक दर्सनेन.
13. देवी प्रसीध परमा भवथि भवाय,
साध्यो विनसयसि कोपवथि कुलानि,
विग्ननमेथ धधुनैव यदस्थामेथ,
न्नेथं भालं सुविपुलं महिषासुरस्य.
14. थीय संमथ जन पदेषु धनानि थेशां,
थेशां यशांसि न च सीधथि धर्म वर्ग,
धन्यस्थ एव निब्रुधथ्मज अभ्यथ्य धर,
येषां सदभ्य्दयध भवथी प्रसन्न.
15. धर्म्याणि देवी, सकलानि सदैव कर्मा,
अन्यधुथ प्रथिधिनं सुकृथि करोथि,
श्र्वर्गम् प्रयथि च तथो भवथि प्रसादतः,
लोक थरये आपि फलाध ननु देवी थेन.
16. दुर्गे समृथ हरसि भीथिमसेष जनथो,
श्र्वस्थै समर्था मथि मथीव शुभ दधासि,
दारिद्र्य दुख भय हरिणी क त्वधन्य,
सर्वोप कर करणाय सदार्द्र चिथ.
17. एअपिर हथैर जगथुपैथि सुखं थादैहे,
कुर्वन्थु नाम नरकाय चिराय पापं,
संग्राम मृत्यु मधिगम्य दिवं प्रयन्थु,
मथ्वेथि नून महित्हन विनिहंसि देवी.
18. दुष्तैव किं भवथि प्रकरोथि भस्म,
सर्वसुरनरीषु यल प्रहिनोषि सस्थ्रं,
लोकान प्रयन्थु रिपवो अपि हि सस्थ्र पुत्र,
इथं मथिर भवथि थेश्व हिथेसु स्वधि.
19. गद्ग प्रभा निकर विषुरणै स्थोधग्रै,
सूलग्र कनथि निवहेन दृसो असुराणां,
यन्नगथ विलयमंसुम दिन्धु गण्ड,
योग्याननं थ्व विलोकयथं थ्देथातः.
20. दुर वृथा वृथा समानं थ्व देवी शीलं,
रूपं थादिव तधा विचिन्थ्य मथुल्य मन्यै,
वीर्यं च हन्थ्य हृथा देव परक्रमणं,
वैरिश्वपि प्रकतिथैव धय त्वयेथम्.
21. केनोपम भवथु थेस्य पराक्रमस्य,
रूपं च शत्रु भय कर्यधि हरि कुत्र,
चिथे कृपा समर निष्तूरथा च दुष्स्त,
ट्वयेव देवी, वरदे भुवन त्रयेपि.
22. त्रिलोक्य मेत्हद अकिलं रिपु नासनेन,
त्रथं त्वय समर मूर्धनि थे अपि हत्व,
नीथा दिवं रिपु गण भय मप्यपस्थ,
मास्माक मुन्मध सुरारी भवं नमस्थे.
23. शूलेन पहिनो देवी, पाहि गद्गेन चाभिके,
ग़न्दस्वनेन न पाहि चपज्यनिस्वनेन च.
24. प्राच्यां रक्ष, प्रदीच्यं च चण्डिके, रक्ष दक्षिणे,
ब्रमनेनथ्म शूलस्य उत्हरस्यं थदेस्वै.
25. श्रोव्म्यनि यानि रूपाणि त्रोलोक्ये विचरन्थि थेय,
यानि चात्यर्थ घोराणि थै राक्षस मां शतधा भुवं.
26. गद्ग सूल गधधीनि यानि च अस्थ्राणि थेय अम्बिके,
कर पल्लव संगीनि थैरस्मान रक्ष सर्वथा.
27. एवं स्थुथ सुरैर दिव्यै कुसुमैर नन्दनोद्भवै,
अर्चिथ जगथं धात्री तधा गन्धनुलेपनैर.

1. సక్రదయ సురగణ నిహతే అతివీర్య,
తస్మిన్ దురత్మని సురరి బలే చ దేవయ,
తాం తుష్టువు ప్రణతి నమర సిరో దరంస,
వాగ్భి ప్రహర్ష పుల్గోత్గమ చారు దేహ.
2. దేవయ య్య తతమిదం జగదత్మ శక్త్య,
నిస్సేశ దేవ గణ శక్తి సమూహ మూర్తయ,
తాం అమ్బికం అఖిల దేవ మహర్షి పూజ్యం,
భక్త్య నతస్మ విధ ధహ్తు శుభాని సా న.
3. యస్య ప్రభావం అతులం భగవాన్ అనంతో,
బ్రహ్మ హరశ్చ నహి వక్తుమలం బలం చ,
సా చండిక అఖిల జగత్ పరిపలనయ,
నాస్య చాశుభ భయస్య మతిం కరోతు.
4. యా శ్రీ స్వయం సుక్ర్తీనాం భావనేశ్వ లక్ష్మి,
పపత్మానం కృత దియాం హ్రుధఎషు బుధి,
సరదా సతాం కుల జన ప్రభావస్య లజ్జ,
తాం త్వం నతా సమ పరిపాలయ దేవి విశ్వం.
5. కిం వర్నయమ తవ రూప మచింత్య మేతత్,
కిం చాతి వీర్యమాసుర క్షయకరి భూరి,
కిం చహవేషు చరితని తవతి యని,
సర్వేషు దేవ్యసుర దేవ గానదికేషు.
6. హేతు సమస్త జగతాం త్రిగునాపి దోశైర్,
న జ్ఞాయసే హరిహరదిభిరప్యాపార,
సర్వస్రయఖిలమిడం జగదంస భూత,
మవ్యక్యత హాయ్ పరమ ప్రక్రుతిస్త్వమధ్య.
7. యస్య సమస్త సురత సముదీరనేన,
తృప్తిం ప్రయాతి సకలేషు మఖేషు దేవి,
స్వహసి వై పిత్రు గణస్య చ త్రుప్తిహేతు,
రుచార్యసేత్వమత ఎవ జని సవత చ.
8. యా ముక్తిహేతు రవిచిన్థ్యవ్ మహా వ్రుత తవ,
మభ్య్స్యసే సునియతేన్ద్రియ తత్వ సరి,
మోక్షర్తిభిర్ మునిభిరస్త సమస్త దోశైర్,
విధ్యాసి సా భగవతీ పరమ హి దేవి.
9. సభాత్మిక సువి మలర్ఘ్య జుశం నిధాన,
ముద్గేధరామ్య పద పతవాతం చ సామ్నాం,
దేవి, త్వయి భగవతి భావ భావనయ,
వార్త చ సర్వ జగతాం పారమార్థి హన్త్రీ.
10. మేధాసి దేవి, విదితాఖిల శాస్త్ర శర,
దుర్గాసి దుర్గ భావ సాగర నూర సంగ,
శ్రీ కైదా భారి హృదిక క్రుతదివాస,
గురి త్వమేవ ససి మౌళి కృత ప్రతిష్ట.
11. ఇషాథ్ సాహసం అమలం పరిపూర్ణ చంద్ర,
భిబనుకరి ప్రహ్రుతమ కాంతి కాంతం,
అత్యత్బుతం ప్రహ్రుతమాతరుష తదపి,
వక్త్రం విలోఖ్య సహస మహిశాసురేన.
12. దృష్ట్వా తు దేవి, కుపితం బ్రుకుతికరాల,
ముద్ర్చ్చ సంక సాధ్య స్చవీ యన్న సాధ్య,
ప్రాణాన్ ముమొచ మహిషాస్ తదీవ చిత్రం,
కిర్ జీవితే హి కుపితంతక దర్సనేన.
13. దేవి ప్రసీద పరమా భవతి భావయ,
సద్యో వినసయాసి కోపవతి కులాని,
విగ్ననమేత ధదునైవ యదస్తమేత,
న్నేతం భలం సువిపులం మహిశాసురస్య.
14. తీయ్ సమ్మత జన పదేషు దాన్ని తేషాం,
తేషాం యసంసి న చ సీదతి ధర్మ వర్గ,
ధన్యస్త ఎవ నిబృధత్మజ అభ్యత్య ధర,
ఎశం సదభ్య్దయద భవతీ ప్రసన్న.
15. ధర్మ్యని దేవి, సకలని సదివ కర్మా,
అన్యదుత ప్రతిదినం సుకృతి కరోతి,
స్వర్గం ప్రయాతి చ తతో భవతి ప్రసాదాత్,
లోక త్రాయే ఆపి ఫలదా నను దేవి తేన.
16. దుర్గే స్మ్రుత హరసి భీతిమసేశ జనతో,
స్వస్తి స్మృతా మతి మతీవ శుభ దదాసి,
దారిద్ర్య దుఃఖ భయ హరిణి క త్వదన్య,
సర్వోప కర కరనయ సదర్ద్ర చిత.
17. ఎఅపిర్ హతైర్ జగతుపైతి సుఖం తడిహే,
కుర్వంతు నమ నరకాయ చిరాయ పాపం,
సంగ్రామ మృత్యు మధిగమ్య దివం ప్రయాన్తు,
మత్వేతి నూనా మహితాన్ వినిహంసి దేవి.
18. దుష్టైవ కిం భవతి ప్రకరోతి భస్మ,
సర్వసురనరీషు యల్ ప్రహినోషి శాస్త్రం,
లోకాన్ ప్రయాన్తు రిపవో ఆపి హాయ్ శస్త్ర పుత్ర,
ఇతం మతిర్ భవతి తేష్వ హితేసు స్వాధీ.
19. గడగ ప్రభ నికర విశురనై స్తోధగ్రై,
సూలగ్ర కాంతి నివహేనా ద్రుసో అసురణం,
యన్నాగత విలయమంసుమ డిందు గండ,
యోగ్యననం తవ విలోకయతం త్దేతత్.
20. దూర్ వ్రుత వ్రుత సమానం తవ దేవి శీలం,
రూపం తాడివ తధా విసిన్త్య మతుల్య మంయై,
వీర్యం చ హన్త్య హృత దేవ పరక్రమానం,
వైరిశ్వపి ప్రకతితైవ దయ త్వఎతం.
21. కేనోపమా భవతు తేస్య పరక్రమస్య,
రూపం చ శత్రు భయ కార్యదీ హరి కుత్ర,
చితె కృపా సమర నిష్టూరత చ దుష్స్త,
త్వఎవ దేవి, వరదే భువన త్రాఎపి.
22. త్రిలోక్య మెథడ్ అకిలాం రిపు నసనేన,
త్రతం త్వయ సమర ముర్దని ది ఆపి హత్వా,
నీత దివం రిపు గణ భయ మాప్యపస్త,
మస్మక మున్మద సురరి భావం నమస్తే.
23. సూలేన పహినో దేవి, పాహి గడ్గేనా చభికే,
గండస్వనేన న పాహి చపజ్యనిస్వనేన చ.
24. ప్రాచ్యం రక్షా, ప్రదీచ్యం చ చండికే, రక్షా దక్షిణే,
బ్రమనేనత్మ సూలస్య ఉతరస్యం తదేస్వై.
25. సౌమ్యని యని రూపాని త్రోలోక్యే విచారాంతి థెయ్,
యని చత్యర్త ఘోరాని తి రాక్షస మాం శతాధ భువం.
26. గడగ శూల గదదీని యని చ అస్త్రాణి థెయ్ అంబికే,
కర పల్లవ సంగీని తైరస్మన్ రక్షా సార్వత.
27. ఏవం స్తుత సురైర్ దివ్యై కుసుమైర్ నందనోద్భావై,
అర్చిత జగతాం ధాత్రి తధా గంధనులేపనైర్.

1. சக்ரதய சுரகன நிஹதே அதிவீர்யா,
தஸ்மின் டுரத்மணி சுற்றி பலே ச தேவய,
தாம் துஷ்டுவு பிரணதி நமர சிரோ தரம்ச,
வக்பிய் ப்ரகுஅர்சா புல்கோத்கம சாரு தேக.
2. தேவய யாய ததமிதம் ஜகடத்மா சக்த்யா,
நிச்செஷா தேவ கன ஷக்தி சமூஹா மூர்த்திய,
தாம் அம்பிகம் அக்கிலா தேவ மகர்ஷி பூஜ்யம்,
பக்த்ய நாதாச்ம வித தஹ்து சுபானி சா ந.
3. யஸ்ய பிரபாவம் அதுலம் பகவான் ஆனந்தோ,
பிரம்மா ஹரச்ச நஹி வக்துமலம் பலம் ச,
சா சந்திக்க அக்கிலா ஜகத் பரிபலனைய,
நாசா சாஷுபா பாயச்ய மதிம கரோது.
4. யா ஸ்ரீ ஸ்வயம் சுக்ர்தீனாம் பாவநேஷ்வா லக்ஷ்மி,
பபத்மானம் கருத தியாம் ஹ்ருதஎஷு புதி,
சராதா சதாம் குல ஜன பிரபாவச்ய லஜ்ஜா,
தாம் த்வாம் நாதா சம பரிபாலய தேவி விஸ்வம்.
5. கிம் வர்ணயமா தவ ரூப மசிந்த்ய மேதத்,
கிம் சதி வீர்யமஅசுர க்ஷயகரி பிஊறி,
கிம் சஹவேஷு சரிதனி தவத்தி யணி,
சர்வேஷு தேவ்யசுற தேவ கனதிகேஷு.
6. ஹேது சமஸ்த ஜகதம் ற்றிகுனாபி டோஷைர்,
ந ஜ்னயசே ஹரிஹரதிபிரப்யபார,
சர்வஸ்ரயக்கிலாமிடம் ஜகடம்ச பூத,
மவ்யக்யாத ஹாய் பரம பிரக்ருதிச்த்வமத்யா.
7. யஸ்ய சமஸ்த சுரதா சமுதீரநென,
ற்றுப்திம் ப்ரயதி சகலேஷு மக்ஹெஷு தேவி,
ச்வஹசி வை பித்ரு கனச்ய ச ற்றுப்திஹெது,
ருச்சர்யசெத்வமத எவ சனை சுவாத ச.
8. யா முக்திஹெது ரவிசிந்த்யவ் மஹா வறுத்த தவா,
மபிய்ச்யசே சுநியதேன்றிய தத்வா சரி,
மொக்ஷர்த்திபீர் முநிபிரச்த சமஸ்த டோஷைர்,
வித்யசி சா பகவதி பரம ஹி தேவி.
9. சபாத்மிக சுவி மலர்க்ஹ்ய ஜுஷம் நிதான,
முத்கேதரம்யா பத படவதம் ச சமனாம்,
தேவி, த்வயி பகவதி பாவ பாவனைய,
வர்த்த ச சர்வ ஜகதம் பரமார்த்தி ஹன்த்ரீ.
10. மேதாசி தேவி, விதிதக்கிலா சாஸ்திர சாரா,
துர்கசி துர்கா பாவ சகர நுற சங்க,
ஸ்ரீ கிட பாரி ஹ்ருடைக்க க்ருததிவச,
குறி த்வமேவ சசி மௌலி கருத ப்ரதிஷ்ட.
11. இஷாத் சஹாசம் அமலம் பரிபூர்ண சந்திர,
பீபனுகரி ப்ரகுருதம காந்தி கந்தம்,
அத்யத்புதம் ப்ரகுருதமாதருஷ ததபி,
வக்த்ரம் விலோக்ஹ்ய சஹாச மகிஷசுரென.
12. த்ருஷ்ட்வா து தேவி, குபிதம் ப்ருகுடிகரள,
முட்ர்ச்ச சங்க சத்யா ச்ச்சவீ யன்ன சத்யா,
ப்ரனான் முமொச்ச மகிஷஸ் தடீவ சித்திரம்,
கிர் ஜீவிதே ஹி குபிதந்தக தர்சனின.
13. தேவி பிரசீத பரமா பவதி பாவய,
சத்யோ வினசயசி கொபவதி குழனி,
விஞனமேத ததுனைவ யாதச்தமேத,
நேதம் பாலம் சுவிபுலம் மகிஷசுரஷ்ய.
14. தீய சம்மத ஜன பதேஷு தண்ணி தேஷாம்,
தேஷாம் யசம்சி ந ச சீததி தர்ம வர்க்க,
தண்யச்த எவ நிப்ருதத்மஜா அபியத்ய தர,
எஷம் சடபிய்டயாத பவதீ பிரசன்னா.
15. தர்மானி தேவி, சகழனி சடைவ கர்மா,
அன்யதுத பிரதிதினம் சுக்ருதி கரோதி,
சுவர்க்கம் ப்ரயதி ச ததோ பவதி பிரசடத்,
லோக தரையே ஆபி ப்ஹலதா நானு தேவி தென்.
16. துர்கே சம்ருத ஹரசி பீதிமசெஷா சந்தோ,
சுவாசத்தை ஸ்ம்ருதா மதி மதீவ சுபா ததாசி,
டரிட்ர்யா டுக்ஹா பாய ஹரிணி க த்வதன்ய,
சர்வோப கர காரனைய சடர்ற சித்த.
17. ஈபிர் ஹதைர் ஜகதுபைதி சுகன் தடைஹி,
குர்வந்து நாம நரகைய சிறைய பாபம்,
சம்கிராம ம்ருத்யு மதிகம்ய திவம் பிரானது,
மத்வேதி நோன மகிதன் விநிஹம்சி தேவி.
18. டுஷ்டிவ கிம் பவதி பிரகரோதி பாசமா,
சர்வசுரனரீஷு யால் ப்ரகுயநோஷி சாஸ்த்ரம்,
லோகன் பிரானது ரிபவோ அபி ஹாய் சாஸ்திர புத்திர,
இதம் மாதிர பவதி தேஷ்வா ஹிதேசு சுவாதி.
19. கடக பிரபா நிகர விஷுரனை ச்தொதக்ரை,
சூலஆக்ரா காந்தி நிவஹென ட்ருசோ அசுரணம்,
யன்னகத விளயமம்சுமா டிந்து கண்ட,
யோஞனனம் தவ விலோகயதம் தத்தத்.
20. தூர் வறுத்த வறுத்த சமணம் தவ தேவி சீலம்,
ரூபம் தடிவ த்த விசிந்தய மதுல்ய மனை,
வீர்யம் ச ஹன்த்ய ஹ்ருத தேவ பறக்ரமணம்,
வைரிஸ்வபி பிரகடிதைவ தயா த்வாஎதம்.
21. கேநோபமா பாவது தேசய பறக்ரமச்ய,
ரூபம் ச சத்ரு பாய கர்யதி ஹரி குதற,
சித்தே க்ருபா சமர நிஷ்டூரத ச டுஷ்ச்ட,
த்வாஎவ தேவி, வரதே புவனா திருஎபி.
22. ற்றிலோக்ய மெதட் அகிலம் ரிபு நாசனென,
திருத்தம் த்வய சமர முர்தனி தி அபி ஹத்வா,
நீத்த திவம் ரிபு கன பாய மாப்யபச்த,
மாசமாக முன்மாத சுற்றி பாவம் நமஸ்தே.
23. சூலேன பஹினோ தேவி, பஹி கட்கேன சபீகே,
கண்டஸ்வநென ந பஹி சபஜ்யநிஸ்வநென ச.
24. ப்ரசயம் ரக்ஷா, பிரதீசயம் ச சண்டிகே, ரக்ஷா தக்ஷிணே,
பிரமநேனத்மா சூலச்ய உத்தரச்யம் தடேச்வை.
25. சொவ்ம்யணி யணி ரூபனி ற்றோலோக்யே விசரந்தி தே,
யணி சட்யர்த்த க்ஹோரணி தை ராக்ஷஸ் மாம் சத்த புவம்.
26. கடக சூழ கததீனி யணி ச அச்த்ரணி தே அம்பிகே,
கர பல்லவ சங்கீனி தைரச்மன் ரக்ஷா சர்வத.
27. எவம் சத்துத சுரீர் டிவியை குசுமைர் நண்டநோட்பாவை,
அர்ச்சித ஜகதம் தாத்ரி த்த காந்தனுலேபனைர்.

1. Sakradhaya suragana nihathe athiveerya,
Thasmin durathmani surari bale cha devya,
Thaam thushtuvu pranathi namra siro daramsa,
Vagbhi praharsha pulgothgama charu deha.
2. Devya yaya thathamidham jagadathma shakthya,
Nissesha deva gana shakthi samooha moorthya,
Thaam ambikam akhila deva maharshi poojyam,
Bhakthya nathasma vidha dhahthu shubhani saa na.
3. Yasya prabhavam athulam bhagwan anantho,
Brahma harascha nahi vakthumalam balam cha,
Saa chandika akhila jagath paripalanaya,
Naasaya chaashubha bhayasya mathim karothu.
4. Yaa sree swayam sukrtheenaam bhavaneshwa lakshmi,
Papathmaanam krutha dhiyaam hrudhayeshu budhi,
Sradhaa sathaam kula jana prabhavasya lajja,
Thaam thwaam nathaa sma paripalaya devi viswam.
5. Kim varnayama thava roopa machinthya methath,
Kim chathi veeryamasura kshayakari bhoori,
Kim chahaveshu charithani thavathi yani,
Sarveshu devyasura deva ganadhikeshu.
6. Hethu samastha jagatham trigunaapi doshair,
Na Jnayase hariharadhibhirapyapaara,
Sarvasrayakhilamidam jagadamsa bhootha,
Mavyakyatha hi parama prakruthisthwamadhya.
7. Yasya samastha suratha samudheeranena,
Trupthim prayathi sakaleshu makheshu devi,
Swahasi vai pithru ganasya cha trupthihethu,
Rucharyasethwamatha eva janai swatha cha.
8. Yaa mukthihethu ravichinthyaw maha vrutha thwa,
Mabhysyase suniyathendriya thathwa sarai,
Moksharthibhir munibhirastha samastha doshair,
Vidhyasi saa bhagawathee parama he devi.
9. Sabhathmika suvi malarghya jusham nidhana,
Mudhgedharamya padha patavatham cha samnaam,
Devi, thwayi bhagawathi bhava bhavanaya,
Vartha cha sarva jagatham paramarthi hanthree.
10. Medhasi devi, vidhithakhila sastra sara,
Durgasi durga bhava sagara naura sanga,
Sri kaida bhari hrudaika kruthadhivasa,
Gauri Thwameva sasi mouli krutha prathishta.
11. Ishath sahasam amalam paripoorna chandra,
Bhibanukari prahruthama kanthi kantham,
Athyathbutham prahruthamaatharusha thadhapi,
Vakthram vilokhya sahasa mahishasurena.
12. Dhrushtwa thu devi, kupitham brukutikarala,
Mudrchcha sanka sadhya schavee yanna sadhya,
Pranaan mumocha mahishas thadeeva chithram,
Kair jeevithe he kupithanthaka darsanena.
13. Devi praseedha paramaa bhavathi bhavaya,
Sadhyo vinasayasi kopavathi kulani,
Vignanametha dhadhunaiva yadasthametha,
Nnetham bhalam suvipulam mahishasurasya.
14. Theey Sammatha jana padeshu dhanani theshaam,
Theshaam yasamsi na cha seedhathi dharma varga,
Dhanyastha eva nibrudhathmaja abhyathya dhara,
Yesham sadabhydayadha bhavathee prasanna.
15. Dharmyani devi, sakalani sadaiva karmaa,
Anyadhutha prathidhinam sukruthi karothi,
Swargam prayathi cha thatho bhavathi prasadath,
Loka thraye aapi phaladha nanu devi thena.
16. Durge smrutha harasi bheethimasesha jantho,
Swasthai smruthaa mathi matheeva shubha dhadhasi,
Daridrya dukha bhaya harini ka twadhanya,
Sarvopa kara karanaya sadardra chitha.
17. Eapir hathair Jagathupaithi sukham thadaihe,
Kurvanthu nama narakaya chiraya papam,
Samgrama mruthyu madhigamya divam prayanthu,
Mathwethi noona mahithan vinihamsi devi.
18. Dushtaiva kim bhavathi prakarothi bhasma,
Sarvasuranareeshu yal prahinoshi sasthram,
Lokaan prayanthu ripavo api hi sasthra puthra,
Itham mathir bhavathi theshwa hithesu swadhi.
19. Gadga prabha nikara vishuranai sthodhagrai,
Soolagra kanthi nivahena druso asuranam,
Yannagatha vilayamamsuma dindhu ganda,
Yogyananam thava vilokayatham thdethath.
20. Dur vrutha vrutha samanam thava devi seelam,
Roopam thadiva thadha vicinthya mathulya manyai,
Veeryam cha hanthya hrutha deva parakramanam,
Vairishwapi prakatithaiva dhaya twayetham.
21. Kenopama bhavathu thesya parakramasya,
Roopam cha shathru bhaya karyadhi hari kuthra,
Chithe krupaa samara nishtooratha cha dushsta,
Twayeva devi, varade bhuvana trayepi.
22. Trilokya methad akilam ripu nasanena,
Tratham twaya samara murdhani the api hatwa,
Neetha divam ripu gana bhaya mapyapastha,
Masmaka munmadha surari bhavam namasthe.
23. Soolena pahino devi, pahi gadgena chabhike,
Gandaswanena na pahi chapajyaniswanena cha.
24. Prachyam raksha, pradeechyam cha chandike, Raksha dakshine,
Bramanenathma soolasya utharasyam thadeswai.
25. Sowmyani yani roopani trolokye vicharanthi they,
Yani chatyartha ghorani thai rakshas maam sthadha bhuvam.
26. Gadga soola gadhadheeni yani cha asthrani they ambike,
Kara pallava sangeeni thairasman raksha sarvatha.
27. Evam sthutha surair divyai kusumair nandanodbhavai,
Architha jagatham dhathri thadha gandhanulepanair.

The sage told:-
1. When the very strong Asura army and very valorous and bad natured Mahishasura were killed by the Goddess, Indra and other gods and sages in his circle, with necks bending to her in salutation and with handsome body enthused by the great happiness, prayed to the Goddess.
2. We venerate with ultimate devotion before that Goddess Ambika, whose body has been made by the strength of the collection of all devas and from whose strength this entire world has been created and who merits to be venerated by all the Gods and sages. Let her do well to all of us.
3. Let that Chandika whose incomparable strength and power cannot even be described fully by Brahma, the inexhaustible Vishnu and Lord Shiva, help us in proper upkeep of the entire universe and remove the fear that emanates from the unholy events.
4. We salute that Goddess who is and will be in the form of wealth in the houses of holy people, who is and will be in the form of misfortune in the home of sinners, who is and will be in the form of wisdom in the heart of learned people, who is and will be in the form of good conduct in the hearts of good people and who is and will be in the form of shyness in the minds of those people born in good families. Oh Goddess, please save this world.
5. How can one describe your present form which cannot be even thought by asuras and devas? How can we describe your great valour, which lead to the destruction of many asuras? How can we describe your skill, which was shown in this war?
6. You are the cause and root of everything in the world. Though you are having the three properties of Sathwa (holy), Rajas (vigorous) and Thamas (base), you are not affected by any type of passion. You are one who is not even fully known to the trinity of Vishnu, Brahma and Rudra. You are one on whom all beings depend. This entire world is a part of you. Since the primeval force, which gave life to all Gods, you are bereft of any emotion.
7. Hey Goddess, You are the “Swaha” by pronouncing which in all fire sacrifices the gods get satisfied and you are the “Swadha” which is the source of satisfaction of manes.
[While offering sacrifice to the Gods fire is the mediator. He receives the offerings, which are put in to him with the word “Swaha”, and gives to the Gods. In worship of the manes, water is offered as “Swadha” to the manes.]
8. Hey Goddess, You are that knowledge which is the root cause of salvation, that knowledge which takes one to god by unthinkable great penance, because you are being searched by those sages who have lost all bad wishes and conduct, who think that search of God is the essence of their life and who forever crave for methods of salvation.
9. Oh, Goddess, your soul is the holy sound, you are the songs of sama Veda which are made of very holy verses and which are made up of songs of lovely words, you are the desire, you are the personification of three Vedas, you are the essence of knowledge of the day to day life, and you are the destroyer of the ills of all the world.
10. Hey Goddess, You are the wisdom which makes one capable of knowing all the knowledge so far known, You are the incomparable Durga who is a boat which helps one to cross the ocean of day to day life, You are the Goddess Lakshmi living in the chest of Lord Vishnu and you are the Goddess Gauri who lives in Lord Parameshwara who wears the crescent.
11. Though your face which is pretty with a captivating a smile and which is similar to the full moon and which is having the glitter of the purest gold, it was speedily hit by the very angry Mahishasura. This is indeed surprising.
12. Hey Goddess, in spite of seeing your very angry face with sharply bent eye brows and which resembled the reddish full moon just when it is rising, Mahishasura did not choose to give up his life. This is indeed surprising because, which being would choose to continue to live after seeing the very angry God of death.
13. Hey Goddess, be pleased with me. You are the most powerful goddess Lakshmi. If you are pleased the family is greatly enlarged and if you are angry, you destroy several generations of families. This is known now, because you destroyed the great and large army of Mahishasura.
14. Those to whom you always give progress and are happy with them, they are the people recognized by all. They would only get wealth and fame. For them the Dharma never goes away. They are the people with good sons, servants and wife.
15. Hey Goddess, by your blessings the blessed man always and with feelings of holiness is able to do all his duties which are dictated by just conduct. Because of that he attains heaven and salvation. So it is definite that you give results in all the three worlds.
16. You destroy sorrow of all beings who sorrow, you give great wisdom to those who are fearless and Oh Goddess who destroys the fear of poverty, who is there in this world except you who has a heart dripped in mercy.
17. Hey Goddess you kill your enemies thinking that this world should feel happiness. These asuras are killed, so that these asuras should not do more sins for several ages and so that they will not reach the hell, which is full of diseases and that they should travel towards heaven being killed in this war by you.
(This is an answer to the doubt to the sentiments expressed in the last stanza that, though goddess has a melting heart with mercy, she has killed several asuras.)
18. Hey goddess do you not turn into ash all asuras just by your sight? It is definite, that you send your weapons at them only with a view to purify them by contact with your weapons and with a good intention that even your enemies should reach heaven.
19. The reason why the eyes of Asuras are staring at the glitter of the collection of your shining swords and the collective glitter of the ends of your spear is because they are staring at your holy face adorned with the cool crescent.
20. Holy Goddess, thy pristine character brings to an end the bad characteristics of base people, and similarly your pretty mien can never be imagined by ordinary minds and also does not have similarity with all other pretty things. Also your valour kills all asuras and thus you show your mercy even towards thine enemies.

21. Hey Goddess who showers all the requested blessings on your devotees, to which thing can we compare thine great valour? To which can we compare your looks which is pretty but creates fear among your enemies. In all the three worlds only in you we are able to see mercy in your mind and fierce cruelty in war.
22. Our salutations to thee mother who has saved all the three worlds from the destruction of enemies, who has killed hoards of enemies in the war field and led to heaven and who has completely cured our fear.
23. Oh goddess, please save us by your spear. Of mother of all worlds, save us all by using your sword and also save us by the ringing of your bells and twang of your bow.
24. Oh Goddess, please save the eastern side by the rotation of your spear. Of goddess Chandika, similarly save the western, southern and northern sides.
25. Let that aspect of you, which is peaceful (involved in creation and upkeep) and that aspect, which is fearful, (that involved in destruction) which are travelling in all the three worlds save us and those of the people in the earth by the same aspects.
26. Oh, mother Goddess those swords, maces and spears held in your very soft hands (as soft as a young leaf) protect us from all over the universe.
27. Thus the goddess who ruled all over the universe was praised by the devas, and worshipped by holy flowers produced from great gardens and also several lotions and pastes made of sandal.
